In August-September of 2008, hurricane Gustav hit the coast of Louisiana. My sister and I evacuated New Orleans and took shelter at my uncle’s house in Prairieville. During and after the storm the roads were closed and the electricity was out. There was nowhere to go and little to do. This series captures my family and our experience “hunkering down” during Hurricane Gustav.
